Rectangular NiFe wire supplier?

Hi, all.

Ok, I'm getting frustrated. My flux-switching transformer experiment is predicated upon utilizing the unique magnetic properties of a 48% Nickel, 52% Iron wire with specific annealing.

I've tried pretty much every wire manufacturer I can find on Google... either they don't manufacture the wire in the alloy I need, or they only make round wire, or they can't anneal it properly, or they can only supply bare wire, or they want me to buy production-scale quantities.

How do other researchers get wire with custom properties manufactured? Does anyone know of a manufacturer that can help me?

The wire is Ni48Fe (binary alloy of 48% Nickel and 52% Iron, sized 0.5mm x 4.0mm, with the annealing process as follows: Dry-hydrogen annealed (4 hours at 1175 C, cooled for 9.5 hours in the furnace at a rate of 50 C/hr, hold at 700 C for 1 hour, then cooled at 1500 C / minute).

This imparts specific magnetic properties to the wire which is needed for this experiment.

The wire must have insulation with high dielectric strength. PTFE should fill the bill.

I'm looking for a 25 kg spool, although if need be, I can go as high as 50 kg.

As much as I like to buy local when I can, I've found alibaba to be a good place to go when I need something that doesn't have a "buy now" button next to it. Although I normally inquire with select suppliers I think they do have a way where you can request a bid from multiple suppliers.

Thank you, that's one I haven't seen before. I've contacted them. Hopefully they'll have the contacts with wire manufacturers to be able to manufacture the wire I need.

I dare say, if my experiment pans out, they'll have many more orders. Seems most companies don't take that fact into account when considering whether to provide service. It's not like they're losing money on the initial sale, they cost-plus the small order so they make a profit.

What is a Scalar:

In physics, scalars are physical quantities that are unaffected by changes to a vector space basis. Scalars are often accompanied by units of measurement, as in "10 cm". Examples of scalar quantities are mass, distance, charge, volume, time, speed, and the magnitude of physical vectors in general.

You need to forget the Non-Sense that some spout with out knowing the actual Definition of the word Scalar! Some people talk absolute Bull Sh*t!

The pressure P in the formula P = pgh, pgh is a scalar that tells you the amount of this squashing force per unit area in a fluid.

A Scalar, having both direction and magnitude, can be anything! The Magnetic Field, a Charge moving, yet some Numb Nuts think it means Magic Science!

The great Nikola Tesla:

Ere many generations pass, our machinery will be driven by a power obtainable at any point of the universe. This idea is not novel. Men have been led to it long ago by instinct or reason. It has been expressed in many ways, and in many places, in the history of old and new. We find it in the delightful myth of Antheus, who drives power from the earth; we find it among the subtle speculations of one of your splendid mathematicians, and in many hints and statements of thinkers of the present time. Throughout space there is energy. Is this energy static or kinetic? If static, our hopes are in vain; if kinetic - and this we know it is for certain - then it is a mere question of time when men will succeed in attaching their machinery to the very wheelwork of nature.
