I thought about making my own site to put my work, schematics, and ideas online, but as Chris is already a curator of these things I'd really prefer to keep my stuff here. The problem is we lose track of things, Sometimes I post things I want to refer back to later and lose track of it. A wiki could solve problems and help us refine and consolidate our ideas and experiments.
Chris, maybe this is something you are already thinking about or planning on doing at some point. I am creating this poll to gauge what others think about this idea. Obviously it depends on you also wanting to do this, and having time to do this. Time is the big limiting factor I think, so don't feel pressured. We are all hindered by limited amounts of it.
Some ideas
- View access limited to registered users only as an incentive to register.
- Personal page - if possible every user would have their own personal wiki page they can edit.
- Registered users can edit most pages and create new pages.
- Administrative locking/Curated pages - For pages that wind up needing constant cleaning due to differences of opinion.
Anyway, post your ideas and suggestions for a wiki, comment on the above, or share an explanation of why you voted the way you did if you wish. Please vote so we know what you think.
