My Friends,

My good friend L0stf0x has shared a word I have just learned the meaning:

Philotimo ( also spelled filotimo; Greek: φιλότιμο ) is a Greek noun translating to "love of honor". However, philotimo is almost impossible to translate sufficiently as it describes a complex array of virtues.

 

 

It is our Philotimo that defines us, you, my friends, that gives us the edge, that makes us world leaders! We are truly light years ahead of all others!

It is you, our Forum Members and all the silent Readers, you are on a path to change the World Forever! We do it with Philotimo!

There is little, if anything, in life that has more value than this word.  I have never encountered it before, but have always valued the principals therein.  Nevertheless, virtue is not something of value in our current society.  It isn't those without eyes that are most blind.

Philotimo cannot be expressed by any word or set of words. is something inner, a spiritual force that drives you always to think and do the right thing.

A typical example is my friend Chris that has strong the feeling of philotimo. He made this forum not for his personal profit, but for sharing his valuable knowledge and help others, spending his valuable time trying to do the right thing!

I am sure most of people in this great forum has Philotimo and doesn't know about it  

Because every motivation to share a great idea, or invent things that will make our world better, does not only satisfies our personal learning feeling, it is really an expression of Philotimo with all its meaning.

What is a Scalar:

In physics, scalars are physical quantities that are unaffected by changes to a vector space basis. Scalars are often accompanied by units of measurement, as in "10 cm". Examples of scalar quantities are mass, distance, charge, volume, time, speed, and the magnitude of physical vectors in general.

You need to forget the Non-Sense that some spout with out knowing the actual Definition of the word Scalar! Some people talk absolute Bull Sh*t!

The pressure P in the formula P = pgh, pgh is a scalar that tells you the amount of this squashing force per unit area in a fluid.

A Scalar, having both direction and magnitude, can be anything! The Magnetic Field, a Charge moving, yet some Numb Nuts think it means Magic Science!
